Title:   Director, Business Development

 

 

SUMMARY

The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for developing business for products and services of Goldbelt Raven, LLC. Goldbelt Raven, LLC provides the Federal Government and Military sectors with a distinctive array of high value services in the IT and Biomedical and Clinical R&D. The Director will be responsible for the identification and realization of attractive growth and alliance opportunities.

 

JOB DUTIES

Key activities performed include:

·         Business Strategy Development – Define, refine, test and implement strategic plans. These activities include primary research, industry, market and competitive analysis, customer needs assessment. Define the product roadmap in the long, mid and short term.

·         Alliance Development – Identify, build, and manage long-term relationships with strategic partners in market segments related to Goldbelt Raven. Initiate and complete proposals, presentations, terms and conditions, negotiations and execution strategic for alliances and Joint Ventures.

·         Product Portfolio Management –Provide marketing expertise for the day-to-day management of the development pipeline. These activities include opportunity assessment, market evaluation, market research, financial evaluation, and other marketing needs required throughout the business development process. Define the business development roadmap in the long, mid and short term incorporating customer needs, input and feedback from other internal and external groups.

·         New Business Development – Identify and evaluate specific business opportunities. Work with program managers to identify and evaluate new markets for existing services, and other development and marketing partnership opportunities.

·         Marketing Strategy Development –Coordinate with the management team to develop sound marketing strategies to win in the marketplace. This will include market segmentation, value proposition development, product positioning, pricing strategy, branding strategy, channel strategy, and communications strategy development.

·         The position will require approximately 20-40% travel

 

 

 

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

 

Deep knowledge of the Federal Government and Military marketplace is desired. Must be able to show a verifiable track record of successful business development. In addition, have the following attributes:

·         A technical undergraduate degree (e.g. engineering, mathematics, computer science), and a MBA will be considered desirable

·         10+ years experience, ideally with DoD or other Federal Agencies

·         Current secret level security clearance or be able to qualify

·         Superior strategy and financial skills

·         Strong leadership capabilities

·         Partnership development (including negotiation) capabilities;

·         Self-motivated with ability to work in an unstructured environment (strong operational mindset, decisive, with a "get it done" and “whatever it takes” mentality)

·         Strong analytical skills (experience building, evaluating and clearly presenting complex business models is critical)

·         Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others without formal authority

·         Excellent written and oral communications skills. Experience should include ability to create proposals.

·         In addition to the above requirements the following are desirable attributes:

o    Significant strategy development and management experience with a strategy consulting firm or corporation is a plus

o   Experience building strategic marketing and selling relationships with senior level executives in technology companies.
